I’m a fan of Westin hotels- mostly because I’m a fan of their heavenly bed and the few that I have stayed at are very nice. I got a great deal on this hotel from Hotwire. Some day I will tell you about my love of hotwire but I’ll save that for another time. Their web site price for a standard room is about $259- I’ve never paid that for a hotel room and probably never will. On hotwire I got the hotel for $60! Perfect for a one night getaway for the family.
This hotel didn’t disappoint. It was beautiful, attached the the galleria mall and we found a close, free parking spot. Can’t go wrong. I contacted the concierge ahead of time to let them know we were celebrating our anniversary (and we were- just a month late because we never did anything on our real anniversary!). I was honestly hoping to get a room upgrade but that didn’t work. The concierge was super nice and made our dinner reservation for us. She also sent up a bottle of sparkling wine or champagne or something and strawberries. We don’t drink so that was wasted but we enjoyed the strawberries and appreciated the level of detail.
Here’s the lobby. Straight ahead is the concierge desk and to the right are the check in counters.
I love the light fixtures and I love the dimensional flowers behind the desk.
This is the other side of the lobby- the lounge area. The furniture was super cool and I think I need one of those lights for my own house.
Here is the room type we stayed in. We were on the 14th floor and the view was great! There’s a window seat on the left side and the coffee maker was in the cabinet. The room was clean- looked recently upgraded, and the bed was heavenly!
I’m guessing this is a picture of the restaurant. We didn’t have a chance to go here (too many good places to eat in the galleria). It looks like it would be beautiful and I’m a sucker for a lighted bar.
This is what they call the “corner suite.” Wishing we could have stayed here. Our room didn’t have a bathtub- just a cool shower. Check out the tile behind the bathtub!
And this is like the $2000 a night suite. Probably never going to stay here. Looks nice though.
I would recommend this hotel at the price I paid- I don’t know that it’s worth $250 a night. I love nice hotels because they are usually beautiful but the nicer they are the more they charge you for the amenities you can sometimes get free at other places. One cool thing is that you could get New Balance workout clothes and shoes sent to your room for your use during your stay. Cool! I don’t think the internet mentions that they charge you for that though. The mini bar fees, room service fees, valet parking… It was all ridiculous. But hey, we just wanted to stay at a cool place and that’s what we got!
I was not paid or compensated for this review in any way- wish I was. I just like to express my opinions… and stay in hotels!
Staying in a hotel always feels like a luxurious vacation to me. Nowadays I'm just a bit concerned about bedbugs though, as some areas of the country are having quite a bit of trouble with them.
